Russ Gant filming: “Comming Attractions.”

Heinecken is not in this shot but it gives you a notion of the pranster activites going on during his visit.
Ben Davis [official historian of the Big Bend Photo Club] writes to say: “Also in the picture are Penny Key (Steve Danko’s girlfriend at the time) in lower right corner – behind her is George Siede – Michael’s brother. Right behind Rus is Victor Schrager taking a picture.

George Siede, Rus, and I were shooting “Comming Attractions” (like in Communication Attractions) which I still have a 1/2 reel to reel copy of but I am sure its probably toast by now. The boat driver’s great line was when he chanted in the local dialect “that’s the Anhinga, the water turkey, snake bird, all the same bird.”

Robert came to Tallahasse to speak as part of the Photophantists exhibition in the early 70′s. In those days a tour of Wakulla Springs was on the schedule. That was before The City of Tallahassee spray field pollution destroyed the beauty of those pristine waters.

In those days you were sometimes almost alone in second class. This was a DC 90 aircraft, six seats across.

Melanie Walker sent this image of Robert Heinecken [foreground], Todd Walker [left] & Darryl Curran [right].
It was on a roll of film taken to generate some PR materials for a show that Heinecken, Todd Walker, Darryl Curran and Robert Fichter were having. Each person passed the camera on after taking his snap of the group

I found this picture reproduced in the catolog for the exhibition: Into the 70′s. This picture was taken by Robert Heinecken.
