Robert put the concept in place
Contributed by Paul KnotterRobert saw and lived in a way that has forever effected my life.
He was brilliant and intellectually inspired as a Professor of Art at UCLA.
He communicated constantly by imagery, words, silence, looks and examples.
He helped me understand and laugh at his and my situations.
The moments I got to spend with Robert were too few and are still very precious to me.
He communicated on many levels.
There were those memorable nights I would go shoot pool with Kenneth Shorr and him at that little bar, Sarno’s in Culver City till 2 a.m.
He smiled when I showed him my forgeries of his signature on letters he had supposedly penned.
He saw perspectives and coordinated strategies of figuring out stuff in life and Art.
I loved Robert and respected him because he was the man.
At his 70th birthday party at UCLA he asked me to roll around (in my wheelchair) with him as he blew out candles on his many cakes.
That made me feel like Bob was in my soul.
He lives with me in my heart and I will remember his mind forever.
Thank you Joy for giving my mentor your beauty and love.
Thank you Robert for being my friend.
